All my life, I’ve known myself to be a healer…
And while I grew up superstitious and had a natural curiosity for things like astrology, fortune telling, and energy healing, I thought the best way for me to carry out that responsibility was to work in healthcare. Books about nature, animals, and mythology soon transitioned to lectures about infectious disease, biology, and anatomy. Whether mystical or scientific my learning never stopped, and I proudly emerged as a registered nurse after many years of work and study. (yay!)
Nursing is amazing. There is no other profession like it, and I am honored to belong to a community that is unrivaled in its resilience, trustworthiness, and adaptability. I truly love being a nurse. However, like most other systems operating within an end stage capitalist framework, it is an industry also fraught with overwork and burnout. As you can imagine, working through the COVID-19 pandemic only exacerbated these structural issues. It was an unavoidable reckoning, a very uncomfortable confrontation with the reality I had dedicated so many years of my life to building. Which goals were I working towards? What was I prioritizing? What kind of life do I want moving forward? I was forced to ask myself these questions, and I haven’t been able to sit still since. Who is Alex the Healer when he’s not in scrubs? What can I offer without my stethoscope, when I’m not operating in a crisis? My journey of self discovery and healing is very much continual and in progress, but I celebrate and relish in every insight, every inch forward, and every little step back to myself.
All my life, I’ve known myself to be a healer. And I’m having so much fun exploring other ways in which that is true. While I’m super well versed at caring for others, I’m finally becoming good at caring for myself too. It has been eye opening and humbling beyond belief to discover further ways to see and help people that I only could have ever understood by first recognizing and healing myself. Intuitive energy healing (including Reiki/IET), meditation, and astrology have been these tools for me.
I’ve been fortunate enough to have been divinely led to spiritual teachers, mentors, friends, and healers who have not only trained me in these modalities but have expanded on the skillset I acquired from my experiences in nursing and patient care. I look forward to wherever else my spiritual explorations lead me and further developing the ways in which I help others heal and discover themselves.I am so thrilled you are here and getting to know me! It would truly be an honor to hold space for you as you heal, rest, and transform.
